HEIC to PDF converter for iPhone and iPad photos

iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC, a format that many document systems, email attachments and upload forms do not accept. A PDF is accepted almost everywhere. This converter reads your HEIC or HEIF photos and places them into a PDF, one photo per page, so you can send, print or archive them as a single document.

You decide how the pages look: fit each photo onto A4 or US Letter, or make each page match its photo, add a margin, and choose how much the photos are compressed. If you already have JPG or PNG files instead, use JPG to PDF or Image to PDF. To keep the pictures as separate image files rather than a PDF, use HEIC to JPG.

How to convert HEIC to PDF

  1. 1Add your HEIC photosDrag and drop them onto the box, or click it to choose files. Files ending in .heic or .heif are accepted, and each file is checked to make sure it really is a HEIC photo.
  2. 2Set the order and the optionsUse the up and down buttons to put the photos in the order you want, then choose the page size, margin, photo quality and whether you want one PDF or one PDF per photo.
  3. 3Click "Create PDF"Photos are converted one after another and then placed into the PDF. You can stop the batch at any time.
  4. 4Download the resultDownload the PDF, or when you chose one PDF per photo, download each one or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Add your HEIC or HEIF photos, choose a page size, margin and photo quality, and click Create PDF. Each photo becomes one page, in the order shown in the list, and you can move photos up or down before creating the PDF. The finished PDF is made in your browser and downloaded to your device.
No. Your photos are read, converted and placed into the PDF by your browser on your own device. Some browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox and Edge on most computers, cannot read HEIC by themselves, so the page downloads an open-source converter component (heic-to, a pinned version) from the jsDelivr network the first time you convert. The PDF is built with a PDF library (pdf-lib) downloaded from the cdnjs network. Only these software components are downloaded. Your photos are never sent anywhere.
Yes. With the default setting, all photos go into one PDF with one photo per page. Use the up and down buttons to change the order. If you would rather have a separate PDF for every photo, choose that output option and download them individually or as a ZIP.
You can fit each photo onto an A4 or US Letter page, choosing automatic, portrait or landscape orientation, or make every page match the shape of its photo so there are no empty bars. Margins can be none, small or medium. Photos are scaled to fit inside the page without being stretched or cropped.
A PDF made from photos is usually much larger than the original HEIC files, because the photos are stored as JPG images inside the PDF. Lowering the photo quality setting makes a smaller PDF. If the result is still too big, you can shrink it afterwards with the Compress PDF tool.
No. The photos placed in the PDF do not carry over the EXIF information from the original files, such as the date taken, GPS location or camera model. Keep the original HEIC files if you need that information.
Only the main still image of a HEIC file is used, and some unusual variants, such as certain HDR or 10-bit photos, may not decode in a browser. When a photo fails, the list shows a message for that file, and the PDF is created from the other photos. Safari on an iPhone, iPad or Mac can often open variants that other browsers cannot.
